Composition / ingredients
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the specified ingredients. To prepare baked meat, it is better to take a thigh fillet without a bone. Let it be fresh meat, not previously frozen. If it is not possible to take fresh meat, then pre-defrost the frozen turkey, leaving it on the bottom shelf in the refrigerator. I take mustard ready in a jar "Russian", you can cook mustard at home yourself. Dry spices to taste, you can take a ready-made set of spices for chicken, for example.
Step 2:
Before you bake the meat, it should be pickled. Thanks to pickling, it will become more fragrant and softer. Wash the turkey thigh fillet well under running cold water and dry it with paper towels. Put the meat in a deep bowl (it is better if it has a lid). Mix mustard and salt in a separate bowl, mixing them evenly together. Brush the turkey with this mixture from all sides. Put the pickled turkey meat in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Step 3:
After two hours (or more, as you have time), rub the turkey meat with dry spices, also so that they completely cover the entire surface of the fillet.
Step 4:
Wrap the turkey meat in foil, put it in a baking dish or on a baking sheet and put it in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 2 hours. If you want to get a small toasted crust, then after the specified time, open the foil and let the meat stand in the oven without it.
Step 5:
Remove the finished meat from the oven, carefully open the foil. Put the meat on a serving dish and use a sharp knife to cut into portions. Such meat can be served with different side dishes - pasta, potatoes, rice. In the cooled form, turkey can be used as one of the ingredients in salad, sandwiches.
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
So that the oven has time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before cooking).
If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.
