Step 1:
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making American cookies with chocolate chips. For chocolate chips, you need to take dark or bitter chocolate and chop it with a knife. We get the oil in advance, as it should become soft. Turn on the oven to warm up to a temperature of 180 degrees.
Step 2:
Put soft butter in a deep bowl and add sugar. Of course, it is better to take brown sugar, it will give a more caramel taste. But even with ordinary white sugar, this cookie turns out no worse.
Step 3:
Beat butter and sugar into a homogeneous fluffy mass.
Step 4:
Break both eggs and add them to a bowl with whipped butter. In general, make it a habit to break each egg in turn into a separate bowl, separately from each other. This will help you not to spoil everything if you suddenly come across a spoiled egg. Beat everything again until smooth.
Step 5:
Sift the flour through a fine sieve and add it to a bowl with beaten butter and eggs. Add salt, baking powder and vanilla, mix quickly into a soft sticky dough. It is better to do this with a mixer or spoon so that the dough does not melt from the heat of the hands. And do not knead such dough for a long time, it does not like it.
Step 6:
Add the chocolate chips to the dough and mix again.
Step 7:
Cover the baking sheet with baking paper or a silicone mat. We spread out the dough with a teaspoon at a distance of about 2 centimeters, since it spreads very much.
Step 8:
Put a baking tray with cookies in a hot oven and bake for 15 minutes. Do not overdo it, otherwise the cookies will turn out very dry, but still very tasty. Remove the baking sheet and cool the cookies.
Step 9:
Our American chocolate chip cookies are ready. Served with milk, tea or coffee.

This cookie in the USA was the result of a small improvisation by Ruth Wakefield, who replaced the missing cocoa with chocolate chips. Everyone liked it so much that it became a favorite among Americans.
You do not need to replace the butter with ordinary margarine, as the cookies will not turn out so tasty. Chocolate can be replaced with chocolate drops or chips, but chocolate icing is absolutely not suitable.
