Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
You should stock up on two glasses with different diameters in advance. The first, larger, we will make the base of the volovan, and the second, smaller, its walls.
Step 2:
And then everything is simple: there is no need to roll out the dough, we will only let it defrost at room temperature. We take the dough in a whole layer and cut out circles with a glass. A solid circle goes like the base of a volovana, and a circle with a cut-out hole, like a bagel, on the walls. We combine the remains of the dough, roll out and make walls out of them again.
Step 3:
In a small bowl, beat the egg with a fork.
Step 4:
Put the base mugs on a parchment sheet that lies on a baking sheet. Smear with beaten egg.
Step 5:
Put the "bagel" on top.
Step 6:
We form the rest of the blanks in a similar way.
Step 7:
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. And bake one baking sheet for about 12-15 minutes.
Step 8:
That's it, the volovans are ready, they can be cooled, and then filled with different fillings and served on the table. I usually use different salads. Enjoy your meal!
I don't know about you, but I very often use the purchased puff pastry for a variety of purposes. One of these goals was the preparation of volovans. Volovan (for those who do not know) are such round buns in the form of pots, hollow inside. A snack of French cuisine, in a word. You can fill volovany with anything: sweet filling, spicy, and fresh. For the New Year, we always have several types of volovans on the table, the benefit is that it is quite simple to cook them in the presence of dough from the store. Most of all I like to stuff volovany with curd cheese with red fish or red caviar. And, of course, I decorate the composition on top with a sprig of fresh dill. My guests also like this option the most, but children tend to eat volovans with sweet filling - they especially like fruit fillers with sweet cottage cheese. Cook such puff tartlets and choose your own version of the filling!
