Quick and delicious! Appetizing and easy! A weeknight dinner for the whole family! This pasta with broccoli and chicken in a cream sauce takes no more than half an hour to make. It's the perfect dish in a pinch—hearty and tasty. The combination of chicken, vegetables, and cream really works here. Serve it on its own or with a light salad.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make pasta with chicken and broccoli? Gather the ingredients you'll need. For the chicken, I use boneless thigh meat—it's not as dry as breast meat. The broccoli can be frozen, and there's no need to thaw it ahead of time.
-
Step 2:
Cook the pasta until done according to the package directions. Salt the water lightly as it cooks. Then drain it in a colander to get rid of any excess water.
-
Step 3:
Rinse the chicken under running water and pat it dry with a paper towel. Cut the meat into small pieces. Put the chopped chicken in a hot skillet with a little olive oil and fry it for 12–15 minutes. The chicken will turn an appetizing golden color.
-
Step 4:
Then add the broccoli florets and the finely chopped garlic to the pan. If the florets are large, cut them into 2–3 pieces. Fry everything together for 2–3 minutes.
-
Step 5:
Pour the cream into the pan. Add salt and ground pepper to taste. Simmer everything together for another 2–3 minutes.
-
Step 6:
Add the chopped parsley. Grate the Parmesan and sprinkle it over the chicken and broccoli. Set aside a little grated cheese for finishing the dish.
-
Step 7:
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss everything together.
-
Step 8:
The pasta with broccoli and chicken in cream sauce is ready! Transfer it to a platter and be sure to sprinkle it with the reserved grated Parmesan. Serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
- You can swap the chicken for turkey or any other meat you like. Just keep in mind that the cooking time and the calorie count of the dish will change.
- Since everyone's tolerance for salt, sweetness, bitterness, heat, acidity, and pungency is different, always add spices and seasonings to your own taste! If you're using a particular seasoning for the first time, remember that some spices are especially easy to overdo (chili pepper, for example).
