Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a banana pie in a slow cooker? Prepare the products. Bananas, if possible, take the ripest, even a little laid down. The more ripe the bananas, the more fragrant the pie will turn out. Milk is suitable for any fat content, vegetable oil is refined, odorless. You can reduce the amount of sugar, depending on your preferences. All products should be warm, remove milk and eggs from the refrigerator in advance.
Step 2:
Take a large bowl to knead the dough. Sift the flour into it. This will not only rid it of possible debris, but also enrich it with oxygen, which will make the baking more airy and lush. Add baking powder and salt to the flour. Salt in sweet pastries acts as a flavor enhancer, do not be afraid to use it. Mix the flour well with the additives.
Step 3:
Peel the bananas and break them into another bowl. With a fork, mash them into mashed potatoes, it's not scary if small pieces remain — they will give the pie more juiciness and texture.
Step 4:
Pour vegetable oil to the mashed banana, beat in the eggs, add sugar. Be sure to wash the eggs before use, as even the seemingly clean shell may contain harmful bacteria. It is best to use food detergents and a brush. Use a fork to stir the products until smooth.
Step 5:
Pour milk into the egg-banana mass, add vanilla.
Step 6:
Mix well again until the products are completely mixed.
Step 7:
Pour the resulting mixture into the flour. Stir with a fork until a homogeneous dough is obtained. It is not necessary to do this with a mixer — it is enough only that all the flour will interfere with the liquid mass. A certain texture of the dough will make the pie even more interesting.
Step 8:
Lubricate the bowl of the slow cooker with a small amount of vegetable oil. Pour the dough into a bowl, level it with a spatula.
Step 9:
Place the bowl in the slow cooker. Set a baking mode suitable for it, I have it "Baking", you may have some other. Set the time to 1 hour. Again, look at your device, it may differ. (I always additionally add another 20 minutes).
Step 10:
Bake the pie until the signal, then turn off the slow cooker. Open the lid slightly and leave it in this form for 20 minutes so that the cake cools down gradually. Then you can get the pie. It comes out of the bowl completely freely without breaking. Or you can wait for it to cool down completely and only then take it out. We really like this warm pie — it has a wonderful crispy crust and a delicate fragrant pulp.
Step 11:
When serving, you can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!
It will be good to add chopped nuts to such a pie.
Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
What is the difference between vanilla, vanillin, vanilla extract and vanilla sugar, how to use and replace them correctly, so as not to spoil the taste of the dish , read in this article .
Keep in mind that the cooking time and mode are indicated approximately in the recipe. All slow cookers work differently and even the same models of the same manufacturer may have their own characteristics. Before you start cooking a new dish for you in a slow cooker, carefully study the instructions for it, and then in practice try to cook dishes that are familiar to you first, and then new ones, choosing the mode and time individually for your own technique.
