My mom cooks huge amounts of sauerkraut for the winter, and also cooks during the winter. Because I don't really like it, I have to invent some more edible cabbage dishes for me.
Because of my natural laziness, I don't really like to cook, so the recipe for sauerkraut in a slow cooker has become a real salvation for me – I don't need to do much, and a delicious dinner is prepared almost independently.
The meat is washed under running water and cut into pieces of not very large size. It is advisable to take a piece of meat with a small amount of fat. In this case, the finished cabbage will be incredibly juicy. I prefer pork.
Preparing sauerkraut. If it is sour to your taste, then you can rinse it with water.
Onions are cut into half rings and fried in vegetable oil.
Pour vegetable oil into a slow cooker, spread onions, cabbage and pieces of meat. Add spices and salt to your taste and mix all the contents of the slow cooker.
Put the slow cooker in the "Baking" mode for 50-60 minutes and close the lid.
Our cabbage will be ready for consumption immediately after the beep. I recommend opening the lid a couple of times during cooking and stirring the contents, but it is not necessary to do this.
By the way, if sauerkraut is a little dry, then I advise you to add a small amount of drinking water to the slow cooker.
