Cooking method
My friend Katya told me the secret of cooking delicious lightly salted cucumbers according to an old grandmother's recipe, which I am in a hurry to share with you, dear housewives.
I could never imagine that cucumbers could be salted using sugar. But it is sugar that is the main ingredient in this culinary recipe. And of course, do not forget about cherry and currant leaves, about dill panicles – without them cucumbers will not be so tasty.
Wash the cucumbers well under running cold water, cut them slightly on both sides.
Put horseradish leaves, cucumbers, cherry and currant twigs, whole garlic cloves, dill and pepper peas in a large saucepan.
To cook the brine, it is necessary to boil water, put salt and sugar, bring it to a boil again and, stirring constantly, dissolve the spices in water.
Pour the cucumbers with boiling brine, cover the pan with a lid and put it in a cool place (just not in the refrigerator!).
After a day, the lightly salted cucumbers will be ready and you can serve them on the table or put them in the refrigerator.
