Pear lemonade with sage

Super light lemonade can handle even a beginner. There are a great many recipes for homemade lemonades, but this is based on the design and method of making a cocktail, so that it can be made in portions. For example, on a late summer evening, when there is not a kilogram or two of fruit or large stocks of soda at hand. Or when you don't want to mess around for a long time, but just want to drink.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 5 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

    1. Put a quarter of lime, sliced into a high narrow glass. Add sage leaves. Turn ice into crumbs: to do this, ice cubes can be ground in a food processor with strong sharp knives or wrapped in a kitchen towel and beaten with a rolling pin or a meat hammer.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

    2. Add a couple of spoons of crushed ice to a glass and mash with a mudler. A madler is a plastic or wooden bartender's pestle, which is used to squeeze juice from fresh fruits, berries or herbs right in the dish in which the cocktail is served. If it is not at hand, you can do with a tablespoon.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

    3. Pour ice to the edges of the glass. Carefully pour in the pear juice. You can use freshly squeezed juice or packaged; in the first case, the juice may need to be sweetened a little more than the finished one from the pack.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

    4. Add a little sugar syrup — literally half a teaspoon — and gently stir with a bar spoon. Syrup can, however, not be added at all, but simply topped up in a glass of sparkling water.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

    5. Decorate the finished lemonade with sage leaves or a thin semicircular slice of lime, planting it on the edge of the glass. And serve immediately — with a straw or just like a regular homemade lemonade poured from a jug.

This recipe is based on the method of making non—alcoholic mojito, only instead of mint, sage plays the main role here. The ratio of juice and water can be changed to taste. Lovers of sweet drinks can add a drop of sugar syrup.
