Cooking method
Summer and the beginning of autumn is the time for harvesting and harvesting for the winter. One of such delicious homemade preparations is compote. It is prepared from a completely variety of ingredients. Compotes with raspberries are especially fragrant.
Consider the recipe for compote of gooseberries and raspberries. What do you need to cook it?
To do this, gooseberries are thoroughly washed with running water from dirt and dust and dried on paper towels. Using scissors with sharp tips, we cut off the tips of gooseberries from one side and the other. Then we pierce each berry with a needle - this will help to keep them whole when pouring boiling water.
Raspberry berries are well washed and we remove debris and twigs that may remain when picking berries. It is better not to put too soft berries in the compote, otherwise it may negatively affect its final taste. Unripe berries should also not be put.
We prepare the necessary glass containers for compote. I wash the cans with hot water with some detergent. Sterilize them in the oven at a temperature of 100-120 degrees Celsius. At the same time, you should put the jars in a still cold oven and gradually bring the temperature to the desired one. This method will prevent a possible split of the glass jars. Boil the lids in a separate saucepan.
Put the prepared berries on the bottom of a clean jar. First we put gooseberries, and then raspberries. Top the berries with sugar. With such an amount of sugar specified in this recipe, a rather sweet drink is obtained at the output. Children especially like it. But if there are no sweet lovers in the family, then the amount of sugar can be changed in a smaller direction.
In a separate saucepan or just in a kettle, boil clean water and pour hot boiling water over berries with sugar in a jar. After that, we immediately roll up the sterilized lids, turn the cans upside down and cover them with a blanket or something warm. We put the jars on the floor and leave them in this position until they completely cool down. After that, they can be removed to the basement or cellar for storage for the winter.
