Fig Jam with Walnuts

    1. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet. 2. Wash the figs and prick them gently all over with a fork. 3. Make a small slit near the stem end of each fig and tuck a piece of walnut inside. 4. Place the stuffed figs in a deep bowl, cover them with the sugar, and leave overnight so the fruit releases its juices. 5. Cook over low heat until the figs turn translucent. 6. Slice the lemon thinly, add it to the figs, and cook for one more minute. 7. Ladle the jam into jars and seal. Enjoy!
