Schisandra Berry Jam

Try something out of the ordinary! Wholesome, simple, and delicious! Schisandra berry (limonnik) jam is pretty unusual — it's as much a remedy as it is a treat. You can strain the berries from the syrup and use them in baking or take them medicinally, while the syrup can be thinned with water and sipped like a compote. Schisandra is a great immune booster during cold-and-flu season.

    1. Put the schisandra berries in a bowl, cover with water, and rinse them, picking out any twigs you come across. Transfer the clean berries to another container, cover them with the sugar, and leave overnight. 2. In the morning, set the container of berries over the heat; if not much juice has been released overnight, add a little water. Cook for 5 minutes from the moment it comes to a boil, then turn off the heat and let it cool completely. 3. Bring the jam back to a boil, cook for 5 minutes, and spoon it into clean, sterilized jars. Seal them tightly. Enjoy the tasting!
