A lot of people, out of their ignorance, consider red mountain ash to be an absolutely inedible berry, and they do it for nothing, because you can cook quite a lot of different food from it. So, for example, every year I close a couple of jars of red mountain ash jam. Fortunately, there is a whole rowan grove right next to my house. I am sharing with you this interesting culinary recipe. So, we wait for the first frosts and go to the forest for mountain ash, remove it. At home, we clean it, rinse it and fill it with cold water. We give the berries to stand in there for about one day. After this time, we take out the berries and dry them. Then we fill it with water again and do it 3 more times. After that, we will prepare the syrup. To do this, pour water into the granulated sugar, put it on medium heat and cook our syrup. After that, fill the rowan with hot syrup and take it out in the cold for a day. After this time, we take out the berries, and cook the remaining syrup for about 20 minutes. After that, we lower the berries into the syrup and cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes. After that, we cool the jam, pour it into sterilized jars and twist it.
