Vareniki with Frozen Berries

The most tender dough with a sweet berry filling! My kids absolutely adore these vareniki (Ukrainian filled dumplings). I'm so glad I have a freezer stocked with berries — they really save the day. Serve them with honey or sour cream, or drizzle them with melted butter.

    1. Mix the dry ingredients for the dough, add the vegetable oil, and stir. Bring the milk to a boil and pour it into the dough. Gather it into a ball with a spatula, then dust the counter with flour and keep kneading by hand. 2. Roll out rounds, place frozen berries in the center of each, and add a little sugar. Pinch the edges very well so the juice doesn't leak out during cooking. 3. Set a pot of water over the heat and add a little salt. Drop the vareniki into the boiling water, give them a stir, and once they float, cook a couple of minutes more, then turn off the heat.
