Step 1:
Let's prepare the ingredients for meatballs in tomato sauce according to the list. Minced meat is better to use mixed, from pork and beef taken in equal parts, meatballs from such minced meat will turn out juicy and delicious. To make the dish less caloric, you can use minced poultry meat. Minced meat can be wound on a meat grinder from fresh meat or used ready-made.
Step 2:
Peel the onion and cut into cubes. We use one onion for making minced meat, the second for sauce.
Step 3:
Carrots are washed, cleaned and grated.
Step 4:
In a bowl with minced meat, add finely chopped onion, salt and ground black pepper to taste. If desired, you can add any more spices and seasoning for meat. Those who like sharper and more delicious dishes can add dry adjiki. Mix the mass thoroughly so that the minced meat becomes homogeneous in consistency.
Step 5:
We form small balls from minced meat soaked in water with our hands. We roll them in wheat flour, poured into a bowl. Pour vegetable oil into the pan. Turn on the fire. Fry the meatballs in preheated oil over medium heat, turning them over with a spatula, until browned on all sides.
Step 6:
Fry the meatballs for about 15 minutes and remove from the pan.
Step 7:
Add a little vegetable oil to the pan. Fry the cooked onions and carrots over medium heat, stirring, until lightly browned.
Step 8:
Put tomato paste in a frying pan with vegetable frying and pour half a glass of water. Stir the mixture and let it boil.
Step 9:
We put the cooked meatballs in the boiling sauce. Simmer the meatballs in tomato sauce over medium heat under the lid for about 30 minutes. Then we remove the lid, if the sauce seems liquid, let it evaporate a little. Turn off the fire.
Step 10:
The dish is served to the table, optionally with or without a side dish, with fresh vegetables and herbs. Bon appetit!
