Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make chicken in a sour cream sauce? Measure out your ingredients. You can use turkey breast instead of chicken, or any other meat fillet you like.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Trim the chicken, rinse it, pat it dry, and cut it into small pieces.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Peel the garlic and slice it thin. Heat the oil in a skillet and fry the garlic for 2–3 minutes. Fish the garlic out and discard it — we only want the garlic-infused oil. At this point you could also brown some onion cut into half-moons; I'm not a fan, so I leave it out.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Add the chicken to the same skillet and fry until golden, stirring with a spatula. Keep the heat at medium or a little lower.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Add the sour cream, salt, and pepper to the chicken. Stir. Cover with a lid. Simmer over low heat, covered, for about 15 minutes. If it's sizzling hard, turn the heat down a touch.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Toward the end of cooking, you can add a few sprigs of fresh rosemary to the chicken in sour cream sauce. Serve the dish hot, on its own or with any side. Mine was boiled pasta.
