Chicken Patties with Fresh Herbs
Fluffy, appetizing, made from everyday ingredients — perfect for any day! These chicken patties are made from breast fillet, so they turn out especially tender and tasty. The whole family will love them, kids included, and they're no trouble at all to make for lunch or dinner.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make chicken patties with fresh herbs? Take the chicken breast and cut it into long strips that will fit easily through a meat grinder.
-
Step 2:
Run the cut-up meat through the meat grinder.
-
Step 3:
Peel the onion, rinse it in cool water, and grind it right after the meat. Wash the herbs, dry them well, and chop them finely with a knife. I used green onion and parsley, but any herbs you like will work.
-
Step 4:
Add the egg and chopped herbs to the ground chicken. Season with a little salt and dry spices to taste (I used ground pepper and paprika). Mix the meat thoroughly by hand, then throw it against the bottom of the bowl a few times to make the patties firmer.
-
Step 5:
Shape the mixture into small patties and coat them in breadcrumbs. Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot skillet and add the patties. Fry over medium heat for a couple of minutes, until golden.
-
Step 6:
Flip the patties with a spatula and fry the other side, also for 2–3 minutes. Transfer the finished patties to an empty pot and let them rest, covered, for a bit. Serve with a side of mashed potatoes or spaghetti. Enjoy!
- The herbs mixed into the meat give the patties a wonderful flavor, especially when green onion is the star. You can also add grated cheese. If the meat is too lean, stir in a little sour cream or kefir for juiciness. To make the patties heartier, mix in some bread crumb soaked in milk. Round out the meal with a fresh vegetable salad or a plate of cut vegetables.
- Keep in mind that properly thawing your ingredients has a lot to do with the quality and flavor of the finished dish.
- Always wash eggs before using them — even a shell that looks clean can carry harmful bacteria. A food-safe wash and a brush work best.
- The right skillet matters — a poor choice can ruin even the best recipe.
