  • So, here's a very simple ground meat dish. On top of being easy and pretty quick to make, it's also very tasty and filling. These patties are truly versatile — serve them with all sorts of sides as a main, make sandwiches with them, or pack them for school or work as a snack. Just about any side works: baked, boiled, or fresh vegetables, salads, fresh herbs, grains, pasta, potatoes any way you like, legumes... your imagination is the only limit. They also pair well with all kinds of sauces. Another plus: you can make these patties ahead. Shape them, freeze them, and use them as needed — it really cuts down the time to get a delicious homemade dinner on the table after work, and the family will be delighted. So, to make the patties, put the ground beef in a deep bowl. Season it with ground black pepper and salt, and add any other spices you like. Mix everything together. Rinse the green onion under running water and pat it dry with a paper towel. Finely chop it, add it to the beef, and mix again. Combine the milk with the mustard, stir, and add it to the mixture, stirring once more. Shape the patties — they're larger than usual cutlets and slightly flattened, so they're easy to turn into burgers. The shape and size are really up to you. Heat a skillet with vegetable oil over medium heat and add the patties. Fry on both sides until browned and serve hot. It's important that the patty stays juicy inside, so don't cook it too long. Round out the patties with the side dish of your choice. Enjoy!
