5-Minute Cheese Flatbreads
Super quick and incredibly tasty flatbreads that go with just about anything! I stumbled on these delicious little breads online and they've been a fixture in my family ever since! They come together fast, and the result is impossible to resist — they vanish in one sitting! Your first flatbread will be ready in literally 5 minutes. Don't believe me?
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Of course, to make these flatbreads quickly, everything should be prepped ahead. Leftover grated cheese or a small piece of sausage lingering in the fridge is exactly what these call for! Here's everything you'll need.
-
Step 2:
Add the baking soda to the kefir.
-
Step 3:
Then the salt and sugar.
-
Step 4:
The grated cheese.
-
Step 5:
The flour. Mix it all together! The dough comes out fairly thick.
-
Step 6:
Scoop out the dough with a spoon. I got 9 portions. To keep the dough from sticking, just dip the spoon in water.
-
Step 7:
Flatten each portion into a round. You could honestly leave them as is, but they're even better with a filling! Gather the dough into a little pouch and pinch the edges shut — it's easy to see in the video. And there's your first flatbread! It took no more than 5 minutes. All that's left is to fry them.
-
Step 8:
Another option is a suluguni filling — this one's for the cheese lovers!
-
Step 9:
Shaped your first batch? Time to start frying.
-
Step 10:
And they fry up very quickly...
-
Step 11:
Fry them covered, with a little vegetable oil, until golden brown.
-
Step 12:
Then flip them and finish frying on the other side.
-
Step 13:
The first batch is done! The hungriest ones can head to the table already!
-
Step 14:
Enjoy!
-
Step 15:
And here's a shot of the inside!
- Definitely give these flatbreads a try — they're incredibly easy to make from ingredients you always have on hand!
