Step 1:
How to stew fish fillets in tomato paste with vegetables? I chose boneless cod fillet, but you can take any fish to your taste. It needs to be defrosted and cut into portions.
Step 2:
Combine plain wheat flour and salt in a suitable bowl. Roll each piece of fish in the resulting mixture from all sides.
Step 3:
Heat the frying pan over high heat. Pour in two tablespoons of sunflower oil and warm it up well. Only after the oil is hot enough, it is ready to work. Put the pieces of fish in the pan. Fry the fish until golden brown. It took me about three minutes for each side. Do not cover the fish with a lid. After frying, remove from heat.
Step 4:
Peel the onion and chop it into thin half rings. Pour a tablespoon of sunflower oil into a separate frying pan and heat it. Fry the onion for five minutes.
Step 5:
Wash and peel the carrots. I use a special knife for peeling vegetables. It is very convenient and much faster than working with a regular knife.
Step 6:
Grate the peeled carrots on a coarse grater and add to the pan. Fry everything together for about seven more minutes.
Step 7:
Add tomato paste. Mix thoroughly. Tomato paste should warm up well and combine with vegetables.
Step 8:
Pour in a glass of boiling water. Be careful not to get burned! At this stage, add salt and add sugar to the marinade to taste. Add a little bit and try. Boil the marinade for five minutes.
Step 9:
Now you need to shift half of the marinade from the pan. Add half a bay leaf and sweet peas to the rest of the marinade.
Step 10:
Put the pieces of fish on top. Add the remaining bay leaf and sweet peas. Evenly distribute the second part of the marinade. Simmer the fish under a closed lid for forty minutes.
This dish, sold, of course, with mashed potatoes, will give a lot of unforgettable sensations. It's both beautiful and delicious at the same time.
