Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients. To make a tortilla with cheese and egg in a frying pan, we will need: 2 tortilla cakes; 3 small eggs; 3 sprigs of parsley; 50 g of cheese; ground black pepper and salt to taste.
Step 2:
Break the eggs into a bowl. Add salt and pepper. Beat until relatively smooth.
Step 3:
Grate the cheese on a medium grater.
Step 4:
Wash, dry and finely chop the parsley.
Step 5:
Put a sheet of tortilla in a dry frying pan. If the tortilla is larger than the diameter of the pan, then each tortilla needs to be cut so that the diameter is slightly larger than the diameter of the pan, so that the edges are slightly raised, then the filling will not flow out of the tortilla.
Step 6:
Pour the beaten eggs on top, trying not to let the mass flow out of the tortilla. Cover the pan with a lid and fry the tortilla for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Step 7:
When the eggs are slightly gripped, sprinkle them evenly with grated cheese and herbs.
Step 8:
Cover the filling with a second tortilla and press. Turn the tortilla over and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 9:
Cut the finished tortilla into 4 parts and serve immediately. Bon appetit!
For the first time I tried a tortilla 3 years ago at the airport in Sochi. Unfortunately, we were in such a hurry that I almost didn't taste it. It was with minced meat and something else.
When I got home, I was going to cook this snack at home, but I safely forgot about it.
And the other day I cooked it with two types of filling at once: tomatoes and cheese. The one with cheese and eggs, I liked more. It is better to take cheese for a tortilla that does not spread much. I had non-salted mozzarella, which is usually used for pizza. It is ideal for baking.
It is worth distinguishing between Spanish and Mexican tortilla. Despite the same name, these are different dishes. A Spanish tortilla is an omelet with vegetables. And Mexican is a tortilla made of bright yellow corn flour, which can be eaten just like that or baked with different fillings.
