Quick Skillet Pizza with Tomato, Cheese, and Mushrooms
A favorite 20-minute breakfast! This savory, tender-crust pizza is easy to make and just as good to look at as it is to eat.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather the ingredients for this quick, tasty skillet pizza with its tender crust.
-
Step 2:
Make the dough: to a bowl with 50 g of flour, add half a teaspoon of baking powder, crack in one egg, and add 30 ml of kefir.
-
Step 3:
Whisk until smooth, then set aside for 15–20 minutes.
-
Step 4:
Cut 100 g of button mushrooms into fairly large pieces.
-
Step 5:
Cut 100 g of ham into rough pieces. For the finishing drizzle, combine two tablespoons of olive oil with a clove of pressed garlic in a bowl and stir well.
-
Step 6:
Roughly chop one tomato — not too fine.
-
Step 7:
Dice the green bell pepper.
-
Step 8:
Finely grate 150 g of Parmesan.
-
Step 9:
Heat a skillet with two tablespoons of olive oil. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring with a spatula. Add the ham, stir, then season with salt to taste, lower the heat, and cover. Transfer the cooked filling to a plate.
-
Step 10:
Heat a skillet with a little olive oil and pour in the batter; cook the bottom for five minutes. Spread the crushed tomato over the top to make a tomato base, then sprinkle with the herb blend.
-
Step 11:
Scatter an even layer of tomato and bell pepper over the herbs.
-
Step 12:
Add a generous layer of grated Parmesan on top.
-
Step 13:
Top the cheese with the mushrooms and ham, sprinkle with the ground pepper blend, cover, and cook for five minutes.
-
Step 14:
Once the pizza has cooked through, add the rest of the Parmesan on top and cover until the cheese melts.
-
Step 15:
Slide the pizza onto a plate, drizzle with the reserved garlic oil, and sprinkle with dill to taste. Enjoy!
- This is the pizza I make for breakfast all the time! It couldn't be easier — anyone can pull it off in about 20 minutes. It comes out juicy, with a tender crust and, best of all, plenty of savory, meaty topping.
