Copycat KFC Chicken Nuggets

Make your favorite snack at home — it's easy! Everyone loves KFC-style nuggets, but not everyone knows you can make them yourself. And you really can — there's no need to go out for juicy chicken in a crispy coating. The recipe is simple; the main thing is to have the right (short) list of ingredients. To keep the chicken as juicy as possible, you marinate it first. It takes a little extra time, but the finished nuggets more than make up for it.

    1. Rinse the chicken breasts well under running water and pat them dry. Cut the chicken into small pieces. 2. Put the chicken in a deep bowl. Pour in the light cream, season with salt and pepper, and stir. 3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for three to four hours. When the time is up, take it out and drain off the cream. 4. Spread the flour on a flat plate — sift it first to avoid lumps. 5. Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and beat with a fork until smooth. Crush the cornflakes, but not to a powder — keep the pieces fairly coarse. 6. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, crushed cornflakes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. 7. Pour the oil into a small, deep pan and set it over the heat. To check if it's ready, drop in a little of the coating — if it sizzles and bubbles, you're set. 8. Dredge each piece of chicken first in flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, then coat it in the crunchy mixture. Prepare all the pieces this way. 9. Set the chicken in a frying basket and lower it into the hot oil. Fry the nuggets for 7–10 minutes, until golden. You can also fry without a basket, just dropping the pieces into the oil and lifting them out with a slotted spoon or tongs. 10. Transfer the fried nuggets to a paper towel to drain the excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
