Mushroom and Rice Balls
Mushrooms and rice come together beautifully in these little balls. They're easy to make, and the result is both tasty and wholesome. Serve them with any side dish and season to taste.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather all the ingredients for the recipe and dive right into cooking.
-
Step 2:
Finely chop the cilantro.
-
Step 3:
Grate the carrots on the coarse side of a grater.
-
Step 4:
Rinse and clean the mushrooms (any kind works). Cut them into small pieces.
-
Step 5:
Cut the onion into small dice.
-
Step 6:
Cook the rice ahead of time in a little water until fluffy.
-
Step 7:
Pour the vegetable oil into a skillet, heat it up, and add the chopped onion and carrots. Fry over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes. Then add the mushrooms and spices and salt to taste. Cook until tender.
-
Step 8:
Once all the components are ready, put them in a deep bowl, mix everything thoroughly into an even mixture, and taste again for salt.
-
Step 9:
Shape the mixture into small, evenly sized balls.
-
Step 10:
Fry the balls in a little vegetable oil over low heat, turning them evenly so they brown lightly on all sides.
-
Step 11:
Take a flat, wide platter and line it with lettuce leaves and fresh vegetables. Arrange the finished balls on top.
- A very hearty, fragrant dish. It's even nice enough for a holiday table.
