Braised Pork Ribs with Bell Pepper and Potatoes
Quick to make, and it turns out hearty and delicious. Pork and potatoes is probably one of the most classic combinations out there. Fast, simple, and tasty.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather your ingredients: pork ribs, potatoes, carrots, onion, bell pepper (optional), salt, ground black pepper, bay leaf, and water.
-
Step 2:
Peel and cut the carrots, onion, and pepper into medium pieces.
-
Step 3:
Peel the potatoes and cut them into large cubes.
-
Step 4:
Brown the ribs on all sides in a Dutch oven, then add the onion and keep frying.
-
Step 5:
Add the potatoes and lightly fry them, stirring as you go.
-
Step 6:
Finally, add the carrots and pepper, fry briefly, and pour in a cup of water. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer over low heat for about an hour, adding the bay leaf 10–15 minutes before the end.
-
Step 7:
Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh herbs.
- To keep your eyes from stinging while you cut onions, rinse the onion and the knife under cold water. Your cutting board won't hold onto that oniony smell if you rub it with a slice of lemon before you start chopping.
- A simple, hearty dish that works just as well for lunch or dinner.
