- Today's recipe is a really tasty dish that takes very little time and effort. 1. Start with a fresh, juicy piece of beef. Trim off any sinew, silverskin, or fat — you want a clean fillet to work with. 2. Be sure to rinse the meat under cold water and pat it dry. 3. Cut it into medium slices about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick and pound them out. 4. For the coating, whisk together an egg with the mayonnaise, mustard, and milk. Beat the mixture well. 5. Dip the pieces one at a time, first in the egg mixture and then in the breadcrumbs. 6. Turn on the slow cooker and set it to the "fry" mode. Pour in the vegetable oil. Fry the cutlets until they have a crisp, golden crust.
