Having been in Europe, I began to associate dishes from chestnuts or with their addition with Christmas. There on the eve of the holiday on the street there are awesome smells not only of vanilla, spices, but also roasted chestnuts. They are sold in small portions in a bag. You can buy edible chestnuts from us and fry them yourself. But by Christmas it is better to make a delicious dish out of them. There is one wonderful culinary recipe. It is called "Chestnuts with Brussels sprouts". This dish is not only very tasty, but also healthy. And it's also easy and fast to prepare.
So, first take a saucepan and boil water in it. Add salt. Then rinse the Brussels sprouts and put them in salted boiling water. Let the water boil again. Cook the cabbage until tender. It should become soft. It will take you 10 minutes to do this. Remove the cabbage from the pan into a colander. Let all the water drain from it.
At this time, put a frying pan on the stove. Melt the vegetable oil and put the bacon cut into small squares. Fry it in oil. It needs all the fat to go out of it. Turn up the heat a little and add the chestnuts to the bacon. They must be cleaned. Then put one sprig of thyme for flavor. Fry the chestnuts, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes. Then add the Brussels sprouts to them. Mix everything together and fry for a few more minutes. Transfer the resulting dish to plates. Season with salt and pepper on top. Then sprinkle a little lemon juice. Stir right in the plate and serve. Enjoy your appetite!
