Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a filling for pies with potatoes? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take any potato - young or old. It's just that the taste will be different. Choose greens according to your taste. Personally, I love the combination of potatoes with onions and dill.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash potatoes thoroughly, peel, rinse again.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the potatoes into pieces of approximately the same size so that all the potatoes are cooked at the same time. The smaller the pieces are, the faster it will cook.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put the potatoes in a saucepan and fill it with clean cold water. Cover the pot with a lid and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 15-25 minutes. The cooking time will depend on your stove and slicing potatoes. There is no need to salt the potatoes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

While the potatoes are cooking, remove the wilted parts from the greens and rinse it under running water. Dry the greens thoroughly with cotton or paper towels.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Chop fresh herbs with a knife or blender. I like to see pieces of greenery in the filling, so I do it with a knife. Bring the milk to a boil and immediately remove from the heat - we need milk to make mashed potatoes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Check the readiness of the potatoes. This can be done as follows: pierce the potato with a knife, if the potato falls back when it is lifted, then it is ready, if it rises on a knife, boil for some more time and check again. Drain all the water from the pan.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Pour boiled milk into the potatoes and add butter. Add oil if desired, you can do it without it. Puree the potatoes with a potato masher. Many people make mashed potatoes with a blender. This method will not work for us, since as a result, the puree turns out to be heavy and very sticky. It will be hard to work with him. You need to grind the potatoes while they are still hot, later it will be problematic to do this.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Add chopped greens to the mashed potatoes, add salt and mix the mashed potatoes thoroughly until smooth. The filling for pies with potatoes is ready. Fill the pies with it only when it cools down, otherwise you can spoil the dough.

With filling for pies with potatoes, you can also cook pies and pies in the oven.

Adding other ingredients, such as mushrooms or fried onions, the filling can be varied.
