Boiled Potatoes Baked in the Oven
Absolutely delicious, golden, appetizing, and perfect for every day! Boiled potatoes baked in the oven are the simplest, easiest way to make a tasty side dish. You can even serve this dish at a holiday table. The topping can be butter, garlic sauce, cheese, and much more, whatever you like!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you bake boiled potatoes in the oven? Gather everything on the recipe's list. The main ingredient is potatoes. Choose smaller tubers of roughly the same size. Since the potatoes are cooked with their skins on, wash them thoroughly — preferably with a brush — to remove any dirt, soil, and so on.
-
Step 2:
Put the potatoes in a pot and cover them with water. Set the pot on the stove, bring it to a boil over high heat, and salt to taste. Lower the heat to moderate and cook the potatoes until tender with the lid partly on. It will take 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the variety and size of the potatoes. You can check for doneness with a toothpick.
-
Step 3:
Drain the water from the pot and let the potatoes cool slightly. Using a spoon, crush each potato as shown in the photo.
-
Step 4:
Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Lay out the crushed potatoes in a single layer.
-
Step 5:
Add a topping to each potato. What's the best topping? Feel free to use whatever you like. On a few potatoes you can add a teaspoon of butter, garlic sauce, or grated cheese. Put the baking dish in the preheated oven and leave it until the potatoes turn golden. The temperature and time depend on your oven. I baked them at 220 degrees for about 15–20 minutes.
-
Step 6:
Rinse and dry the herbs. Chop them as finely as possible. Dill, thyme, young green onion, or fresh basil all go very well with baked potatoes. You can also use parsley, cilantro, and so on to taste.
-
Step 7:
Take the finished potatoes out of the oven and sprinkle them with the chopped herbs.
-
Step 8:
Done — serve them before they cool down!
- A simple, accessible way to cook potatoes quickly and deliciously. You can serve these baked potatoes with any meat dish. Fresh vegetables, all kinds of salads, and home-canned preserves are a perfect match for them. Enjoy your meal!
- So the oven has time to reach the right temperature, turn it on ahead of time (10–20 minutes before you start cooking).
- Keep in mind that every oven is different. The temperature and baking time may differ from those given in the recipe. To make any baked dish turn out well, take advantage of helpful information on how ovens behave!
