Cooking method
There are many recipes for cooking lard. It is salted, fried, boiled, baked. Since we now love variety in food, I present to your attention a recipe for a very tasty bacon boiled in soy sauce. It tastes good both hot and cold.
For its preparation, you can take a brisket or any other part, as you like. I take a brisket with a layer and ribs. First, we will thoroughly wash and wipe the fat dry with paper towels. After that, we will cut it into small oblong pieces, which will then be convenient to cut to the table.
Prepare the necessary spices. Peel the garlic and cut each clove lengthwise into 2 pieces.
We will cook in a heat-resistant dish with a tight lid. I take an ordinary enameled pot with high walls. We put a bay leaf, garlic, a sprig of rosemary and a couple of peas of black pepper on the bottom. We spread the fat on top so that gaps remain between the pieces. Top again spices and again lard. Put the remaining spices on top. Who likes dishes with hot pepper, you can add it.
Carefully pour the lard laid out in a saucepan with soy sauce. Soy sauce is better to take the best quality. The taste of lard will depend on this. No salt should be added at all. Salko will take all the necessary salt from soy sauce. Water is also not needed. There is enough liquid in soy sauce and in lard.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees.
Cover the pan with a lid and put it in the preheated oven. We forget for an hour and a half. No need to check or flip. Therefore, it is very profitable to cook such lard in the evening - in the morning it will already cool down and be ready.
We take it out and try it. In hot form, it is good to serve such a salko with mashed potatoes, vegetables or any other side dish. After cooling, an excellent snack with bread is obtained. If you have prepared lard in advance for the holiday, it can be stored in the freezer. Before use, you can rub it with paprika.
Lard prepared in this way is not only very tasty, but also very useful.
