  • A great dish for dinner with the family — one everyone's sure to enjoy, young and old, because the ingredients pair so beautifully together. Another big plus is the slow cooker, which makes getting dinner on the table even easier and faster. First, prep all the ingredients. Rinse the turkey fillet and pat it dry with a paper towel. Cut it into strips — medium pieces about ¾ inch (1.5–2 cm) wide. Rinse the mushrooms under running water, dry them, and slice them lengthwise. Peel the onion, wash it, and cut it into small pieces. Set the slow cooker to "Fry" or "Bake" (depending on your model) and pour a little olive oil into the insert (you can skip this and cook without oil). Add the turkey to the insert and, with the lid open, cook it for 5–8 minutes, until the meat turns opaque. Salt the turkey. Stir it from time to time so it cooks evenly. Then add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms and keep cooking on the same setting for another 10–15 minutes. Pour in the broth (chicken is best, but beef, pork, or vegetable all work), add the sour cream and dry spices, and stir everything well. Switch the slow cooker to "Stew," close the lid, and braise the turkey and mushrooms for half an hour. When it's done, plate it up and sprinkle chopped green onion over the top. Serve the turkey and mushrooms in sour cream on its own, or boil up some spaghetti as a side. Enjoy!
