Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
For a pie shifter with apples, you first need to prepare the filling. It will need: apples, sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, lemon juice.
Step 2:
Wash the apples, peel the seeds and peel. Cut the apples into slices of medium thickness. It is not necessary to slice thinly so that when preparing the filling, the apple slices retain their shape. Sprinkle the sliced apples with lemon juice so that they do not darken.
Step 3:
Melt butter in a frying pan, add sugar, mix.
Step 4:
Cook the mass over moderate heat with constant stirring. You can add 2 tablespoons of water so that the sugar dissolves faster and the mass becomes homogeneous.
Step 5:
After 5-7 minutes add honey, mix. Cook the mass for another 3-4 minutes until the caramel color appears, while not forgetting to stir so that the mass does not burn.
Step 6:
Put the prepared apples in the pan, mix. It is desirable that the apples lay in one layer and were evenly covered with caramel syrup. Therefore, the frying pan should be of a suitable size.
Step 7:
Cook apples over medium heat, turning them gently periodically. Apples should become slightly soft, but retain their shape. At the end of cooking, sprinkle the apples with cinnamon, mix. Remove the pan from the heat so that the filling cools down.
Step 8:
To prepare the dough, you will need: eggs, sugar, milk, butter, baking powder, vanilla, flour.
Step 9:
With a mixer, beat the soft butter with sugar until fluffy.
Step 10:
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Step 11:
Pour milk into the resulting mass, mix.
Step 12:
Pour in the flour sifted with baking powder and vanilla, mix thoroughly.
Step 13:
The dough turns out smooth, creamy consistency.
Step 14:
Meanwhile, the filling has cooled down a little and the apples are soaked in caramel syrup.
Step 15:
Put the filling together with the syrup into the mold. The mold can not be pre-lubricated, since the filling is wet, and the dough contains a sufficient amount of oil. If there is a frying pan in which you can bake in the oven, you can cook the filling on it and bake a pie in it.
Step 16:
Put the dough on top of the filling, smooth it out.
Step 17:
Bake the pie in a preheated 190 degree oven for about 40 minutes until golden brown. Let the finished cake stand in the form for 10 minutes.
Step 18:
Then flip the pie onto the dish so that the filling is on top. Let the pastry cool, cut into portions and serve. Enjoy your meal!
I baked a pie in a split form. If such a form closes loosely, it is better not to use it, so that the liquid part of the filling does not leak out. For a safety net under the form during baking, I put foil. A few drops still leaked, but in general nothing escaped.
The filling can be made without adding honey. We like honey more, it gives the baking a special flavor.
The pie was tasted the next day. It has become very saturated, juicy and fragrant.
