Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the necessary ingredients for cooking chicken drumsticks with potatoes in the oven. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content.
Step 2:
Combine sour cream with paprika, salt, 1 tsp dried basil, mix.
Step 3:
Wash chicken drumsticks, dry with paper towels. Put the shins in sour cream, mix well. Leave the shins to marinate for 1-1.5 hours. If time does not allow, you can slightly shorten the duration of pickling.
Step 4:
Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them into thin slices. Choose young potatoes or fast-boiling varieties for dishes in the oven. If the potatoes are old, dense, poorly boiled or you are not sure that they will have time to cook, just blanch them in boiling water in the already sliced form for about 2-3 minutes (it should become softer, but remain half-cooked), then carefully flip them into a colander and continue cooking.
Step 5:
Peel onions, wash, cut into thin quarters or half rings.
Step 6:
Combine potatoes with onion and basil, add salt, olive oil, ground black pepper. Mix everything well.
Step 7:
Put the prepared potatoes in a baking dish, flatten.
Step 8:
Spread the chicken drumsticks on top.
Step 9:
Close the mold with foil. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 1 hour. The baking time and temperature are indicated approximately - focus on your oven.
Step 10:
Then remove the foil and put the mold back in the oven for 15 minutes so that the chicken is browned. Serve chicken drumsticks with potatoes hot. If desired, before serving, you can sprinkle with finely chopped fresh herbs. Bon appetit!
When marinating the shins, you can add garlic. It should be passed through a press and mixed with sour cream.
It is better not to neglect the duration of marinating chicken. The longer the shins are marinated, the tastier, more tender and fragrant they will be.
Any marinades can be used for pickling.
In order for the oven to have time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking).
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
Spices and herbs used in cooking are a matter of taste and preference, so you can add what you like most.
