Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
To make lavash with cottage cheese in the oven, we will need thin Armenian lavash, for the filling we will take cottage cheese of any fat content (I have 5% fat content, but the more fat content of cottage cheese, the tastier it is). It is very important that the cottage cheese is natural, without the content of milk fat substitutes. About 200 grams of cottage cheese is enough for one sheet of lavash, that is, one pack of store-bought cottage cheese. We will also need herbs, a couple of spoons of sour cream, garlic, salt and pepper.
Step 2:
We put the cottage cheese in a deep plate or bowl and knead it with a fork so that there are no large grains of cottage cheese. Add chopped greens. Any greens will suit your taste. I have half a bunch of green onions, dill and parsley. Parsley can be replaced with cilantro. Add a little sour cream so that the filling is not too thick. Sour cream can be replaced with mayonnaise or, for example, yogurt, if you follow the figure.
Step 3:
Add salt, pepper, garlic to the curd filling, squeeze it out through a press and mix the mass well.
Step 4:
We spread one sheet of lavash on the table. Spread a thin layer of cottage cheese filling with herbs on it. We roll the pita bread into a flat roll or simply fold it into several layers.
Step 5:
Cut the pita bread into portions.
Step 6:
We shift the squares of pita bread with cottage cheese on a baking sheet covered with parchment or baking paper. Carefully using a silicone brush, lubricate the top of the pita bread with beaten egg, for a golden crust (you can grease the pita bread with melted butter instead of eggs), and send our pita bread with cottage cheese to bake in a preheated oven for 10-20 minutes at an average temperature (baking time depends on your oven).
A little advice for housewives: lavash does not lose its taste properties for a long time — it can be stored dried for up to six months. And so that fresh pita bread does not bloom — keep it in the refrigerator.
Bon appetit!
