Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to marinate chicken in kefir for the oven? First, prepare the ingredients. You can take any parts from the chicken, of your choice, even a whole carcass. Kefir can be of any fat content. Wash the vegetables thoroughly in running water and dry them with paper napkins. Instead of Italian seasonings, you can take any dry mixes for chicken and meat.
Step 2:
Peel the garlic from the husk and pass it through the press. Pour kefir into a bowl and add chopped garlic and dry spices to it. Pour the kefir marinade over the chicken and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 3:
Peel the potatoes, cut into large slices. Transfer to a separate bowl.
Step 4:
Pour olive oil into the potatoes, squeeze a clove of garlic through a press, add spices and mix well.
Step 5:
Cut tomatoes into circles 1 centimeter thick.
Step 6:
Put the potatoes on the bottom of the baking dish. I didn't grease the mold with anything - we will have sauce, so nothing will burn.
Step 7:
Lay the tomato rings on top of the potatoes.
Step 8:
Lay the chicken pieces on top. Pour over all the remnants of the kefir marinade. Preheat the oven to 180-200 degrees. Bake the chicken in kefir until cooked. Determine the exact time and temperature by your oven. It took me 50 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
I love such recipes from the category of 2 in 1, when the second and the side dish are ready at the same time and you do not need to mess with each of them separately. While the chicken is marinating, the side dish is quickly prepared, and then it remains only to put it in the oven and forget for 50 minutes. And at the exit we get a delicious dish, which we spent a minimum of time and effort on.
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
Root vegetables are best washed with a brush or a stiff sponge under running water.
Chicken can be replaced with turkey or any other type of meat at your request. But keep in mind that in this case, the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will change.
If necessary, you can cover the baking dish with a sheet of foil so that the chicken does not burn on top.
