Cooking method
1. Dilute the yeast in warm water, add a third of granulated sugar to them.
2. Sift the flour, mix it with salt and the remaining sugar.
3. Grate the frozen butter directly into the flour, grind it with it. It is more convenient to do it with your hands.
4. In the diluted yeast, break the egg, beat a little with a whisk or an ordinary fork.
5. Add warm milk to the yeast and egg mixture - not very much. The total amount of liquid should be approximately equal to 1 cup.
6. Pour the mixture into the flour and knead the dough. Knead it until it becomes soft and elastic, homogeneous. If necessary, you can add a little flour or vice versa - water.
7. Wrap the dough with cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 1.5 - 2 hours, after which you can make pies out of it.
8. At this time, prepare the filling: wash the apples, cut in half and cut out the seed pods. Cut the apples into small pieces, mix with sugar, cinnamon and starch. Starch is needed so that the filling does not leak out, and the dough does not get wet.
8. Lightly sprinkle the work surface with flour (or grease with vegetable oil). Roll out the dough, cut into equal rectangles.
9. Put the filling on one side of each rectangle, cover with the other side, press lightly. In principle, you can give any shape to the pies - and wrap them in a "classic" way, and in the form of envelopes, etc. As well as the size, for example, I prefer small pies, literally for a few bites. Place the pies on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
10. Beat the egg in a glass with a fork, brush the pies on top with a silicone brush.
11. Bake the pies in a preheated oven (up to 200 degrees Celsius) until they are browned. Puff pastry pies are baked very quickly, but they turn out to be amazingly delicious.
Bon appetit!
