    To prepare crushed potatoes, prepare the necessary set of products. Wash the potatoes well in running water and clean them from the ground and all dirt.

    Using a vegetable peeler, peel the washed potatoes and rinse with water. Cut large tubers into 2-3 pieces. Put the peeled potatoes in a saucepan of a suitable size and pour water into it so that it covers all the potatoes. Put the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Boil the potatoes in boiling water until soft. It will take about 20 minutes. To taste, add salt to the potatoes.

    The readiness of potatoes can be checked simply by piercing it with a knife or fork. The finished potatoes will be easily pierced or even fall apart. Drain the hot water from the boiled potatoes and add butter to it.

    Using a potato masher, remember the mashed potatoes. On hot potatoes, butter will immediately melt and impregnate it with its taste and aroma.

    Then pour warm milk into the mashed potatoes and also remember it well so that the milk is completely dispersed and absorbed into the potatoes.

    By adjusting the amount of added milk, you can adjust the consistency of the finished puree. A ready-made side dish of potatoes can be served with any meat or fish dishes. Bon appetit!

When cooking potatoes, to add an additional flavor to it, you can add a bay leaf or a couple of garlic cloves to the water.
To get a more dietary version of the potato side dish, it can be kneaded without milk and cream. Just leave some water in which it was cooked and add it little by little to the mashed potatoes. But the higher the fat content of the added milk or cream, the more lush the finished puree will be.
In the finished side dish, you can mix a little fried, finely chopped onion or carrot. You can add chopped mushrooms, grated cheese or herbs.
Every time there will be a new taste of such a familiar side dish.
