Step 1:
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the dough. The oil should be soft, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance and leave it to defrost at room temperature (I take it out in the evening). Use flour of the highest grade.
Step 2:
Beat soft butter with sugar until creamy. Depending on the sweetness of the filling, you can take less sugar. In principle, any jam is already sweet by definition. Therefore, you can pour less sugar into the dough. I had sour cranberry jam, so this amount of sugar was enough. the pie didn't turn out to be too sugary.
Step 3:
Add the eggs one at a time, each time beating the mass until smooth and fluffy. For the best combination of ingredients, eggs should also be at room temperature.
Step 4:
Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add to the dough. It is convenient to sift flour directly into the dough.
Step 5:
Knead a soft elastic and pliable dough. It should not stick to your hands.
Step 6:
Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts. Most of it will be used to form the base and sides of the pie. And the smaller one is for the design of the top.
Step 7:
Roll the smaller part into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer for half an hour. It should cool well so that it is convenient to grate it.
Step 8:
Spread the rest of the dough over the bottom and walls of the baking dish, forming small sides. This amount of dough can be enough for a medium-sized baking sheet. Put the dough form in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 9:
Prepare your favorite jam for the pie. I chose cranberry, but not ground cranberries with sugar, but whole berries.
Step 10:
Put the jam on the dough and smooth it out.
Step 11:
On top of the jam, grate the second part of the dough from the freezer on a coarse grater. If there is a little dough left, you can make beautiful patterns from it on the surface of the pie. Bake the pie in a preheated 180 ° C oven for about 40 minutes. The exact time depends on the characteristics of your oven. The top of the pie should be browned.
Step 12:
