When you buy a food poppy for baking, be sure to check the expiration date on the packaging, as well as the date of packaging and collection. If the poppy has been stored for more than a year, most likely it is already spoiled and has a musty smell and bitter taste. Such a product is not suitable.

    Dry poppy fill with high-quality water at the rate of 1 part of poppy and 2 parts of water. Put on low heat and boil for 5 minutes. Then cover with a lid and let it brew for another 10 minutes.

    Rinse the raisins well, transfer it to a container. Pour hot water over it and let it stand for about 5-10 minutes. During this time, it will become soft, swell and the filling will turn out more juicy.

    Drain the excess liquid from the raisins. And now for your choice. You can chop the raisins, or you can leave them whole, do as you like!

    Cover the colander with a gauze piece folded in half. Throw the poppy there. In principle, the poppy can already be used, but it's better to cover it. It is most convenient to do this in a mortar or coffee grinder.

    I used a blender. The crushed poppy will turn mute white, release sweet milk, which will make the filling especially delicious!

    Add honey or sugar to the poppy, do not forget about the raisins. Mix it up. At this stage, try the filling and, if you think it's necessary, add more honey or sugar.

    Our poppy seed filling is ready! You can add any chopped nuts or other dried fruits to the filling.

    I made a wonderful yeast roll, but with such a filling, wonderful buns will turn out!

    Transfer the roll to a baking sheet lightly greased with vegetable oil. Lubricate the workpiece with egg on top, leave it in a warm place without drafts for half an hour for proofing. Bake the product in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden brown.

Any heat-resistant mold is suitable for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, then you do not need to smear it with butter or margarine. But it is better to lightly lubricate metal, ceramic or glass dishes with vegetable oil so that the baking does not burn.
