Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Take the products according to the list: flour, granulated sugar, butter, large egg, baking powder and any thick jam.
Step 2:
In a mixing bowl, mix the egg and sugar, add the softened butter. Mix the mixture well.
Step 3:
Gradually introduce flour mixed with baking powder, kneading the dough. The shortbread dough should be soft and elastic.
Step 4:
Place the finished dough in a plastic bag or plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 5:
When the dough has cooled and settled down, take it out, divide it into two unequal parts: 2/3 and 1/3. Roll out most of it into a layer. Transfer the dough to a baking dish. You can simply put the dough into the mold and distribute it with your hands along the bottom of the mold, the thickness of the layer is 0.5-0.7 cm.
Step 6:
Lay out the filling, in this case it is thick strawberry jam. For flavor, I added a couple of tablespoons of tangerine jam.
Step 7:
Roll out the rest of the shortbread dough into a thin layer and cut into ribbons. Place the resulting dough ribbons on the surface of the filling in the form of a lattice.
Step 8:
Bake our shortbread quick sweet pie in a preheated 180 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
Step 9:
Cool the finished cake slightly in the mold. Then carefully remove, place on a board or on a dish, cut into portions and serve with tea, coffee, milk.
Shortbread cake with jam is easy and fast to cook, the most familiar products are used, which are in any refrigerator. Any thick jam or jam is suitable for filling.
