Cooking method
1. Turn on the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
2. Prepare a baking sheet (if there is one, it is better to have two at once) for the oven, lay baking paper.
3. Wash the apples with cold water and peel them off. Cut out the core, remove all the seeds and cut the fruit into small cubes. Transfer to their small container.
4. To prevent the apples from darkening, immediately pour lemon juice. Add the zest and mix well.
5. In a small deep dish or bowl, mix ground cinnamon with sugar.
6. Melt butter on the stove or in the microwave.
7. Pre-defrost puff pastry at room temperature. Then unwrap it and roll it out into a thin sheet. After that, the sheet itself is divided into two equal parts. If the puff pastry is already packed with sheets, then in this case just cook two identical sheets.
8. Lay one sheet of dough on the work surface. Using a cooking brush, lubricate the surface of the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Put the chopped apples on top and spread evenly over the entire area of the leaf.
9. Top the apples with a second layer of puff pastry. Grease it again with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
10. Taking hold of the edge, roll the dough together with the filling into a roll. Then, with a sharp knife, cut the resulting roll into equal pieces about 3 cm wide
.
11. Transfer the pieces of the roll to a pre-prepared baking sheet and place in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the buns are browned to a golden color and acquire a crispy crust.
Ready-made puff pastry buns with apples are served to the table as soon as they cool down a little. With further storage, the puff pastry becomes softer and loses its appetizing crispy crust.
Bon appetit!
