Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake pumpkin with cheese in Italian? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Mozzarella can be used both in brine and the one intended for pizza. I took the first option.
Step 2:
Peel the pre-washed pumpkin, cut into slices no more than 0.5 cm thick .
Step 3:
Pour a little flour on a plate with small sides, pan each slice of pumpkin on both sides. Add flour as needed.
Step 4:
Put the pumpkin slices in flour on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Pour olive oil on top of each slice, add a little salt. At the same time, keep in mind that parmesan has a certain degree of salinity.
Step 5:
Bake the vegetable slices in a preheated 180C oven for 10 minutes. I didn't have all the slices on one baking sheet, I baked them on two.
Step 6:
Grate the parmesan on the smallest grater.
Step 7:
Remove the mozzarella from the brine, let the liquid drain. Cut the mozzarella into circles and dry it well.
Step 8:
Pour 1 tsp olive oil on the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 9:
Lay out a layer of pumpkin slices slightly overlapping.
Step 10:
Place mozzarella circles on top.
Step 11:
Sprinkle evenly with grated parmesan.
Step 12:
Lay out the pumpkin slices again.
Step 13:
And also cheese layers.
Step 14:
Finish the casserole with a layer of pumpkin. Sprinkle the top evenly with grated Parmesan.
Step 15:
Cover the mold with foil and put it in the oven preheated to 180C. Bake the pumpkin with cheese for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil from the mold, switch the oven to the grill mode and turn up the temperature to 200C. Bake the dish until golden brown for 5-7 minutes.
Step 16:
Let the finished casserole stand in the mold for 5-10 minutes and serve. Enjoy your meal!
In the classic version, pumpkin slices are fried in a frying pan. But you can bake them in the oven so that the pumpkin does not absorb too much oil. So the dish will not be too greasy. Serve the pumpkin with cheese necessarily warm, so that the cheese taste is better manifested. The cooled casserole can be heated in the microwave.
In order for the oven to have time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking).
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens!
