Biscotti, or biscotto, is a common name for dry biscuits in Italy of characteristic length and curved shape, one of the most popular confectionery products. The word biscotti comes from the medieval Latin word biscoctus, which in turn means "twice baked cookies". In Italy, cookies are served with dessert wine Vin Santo, in America biscotti is eaten with coffee or black tea. In Spain, they are usually served with a glass of sweet nutmeg wine. Cantucci is still the same cookie, but according to the original recipe, it is prepared only with almonds. Now, in addition to almonds, other ingredients can be added to cantucci – dried fruits, or chocolate. Almonds, if desired, can be replaced with other nuts. This delicious cookie is made from the simplest and most affordable products !
Today I propose to cook this delicious cookie according to a very simple and no less delicious recipe.

1. Pour sugar and salt into the container, sift flour, baking powder and add vanilla. Mix and make a hole.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs a little and add them to the flour, then pour honey into the flour, add the zest and soft butter. Knead the dough, it should become elastic and easily gather into a lump.

3. Add nuts and raisins to the dough (pre-rinse and dry the raisins), mix everything well.

4. Divide the dough into two parts (you can bake one large loaf), and form two bars. Put the formed bars on a silicone mat and put them in the oven preheated to 180 degrees to bake for 30 minutes (a ruddy crust should form on top).

5. Allow the finished bars to cool for ten minutes (no longer) and cut into slices.

6. Put it back in the oven to bake for 10 minutes at 170 degrees. There should be a small distance between the slices.

Let the finished liver cool down and you can serve it to the table! If desired, the finished cookies can be dipped in melted chocolate.

Bon appetit! Cook with pleasure !
