Ant Hill cake on sour cream

I suggest making a delicious cake for a home tea party! Ant Hill cake is certainly a very satisfying and high-calorie dish, you can't eat a lot of it. But sometimes you can indulge! You can add walnuts or poppy seeds to such a cake. Poppy seeds, in particular, are sometimes sprinkled on top of the cake - it turns out very similar to a real anthill.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 8 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the necessary products for the preparation of the Anthill. Boiled condensed milk should ideally be homemade or high-quality ready-made. Butter should also be taken real, not spreads and margarine.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Put the butter in a deep bowl, soften it to a creamy state, add sugar and a pinch of salt, mix, even beat the butter and sugar more quickly.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Add high-quality sour cream and whisk again, the sugar crystals should dissolve.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and mix. Since the properties of flour may differ, its amount may change more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus on the consistency of the dough: it should be dense enough to gather into a bun. Put the finished dough in the freezer for 1.5-2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Then the dough needs to be baked. You can pinch off small pieces and put them on a baking sheet. You can roll out the dough and bake thin cookies. Some rub the dough on a grater, pass it through a meat grinder. The point is to get small pieces of dough that are baked at 180 degrees to a ruddy color (about 15-25 minutes, depending on the fineness of the dough)

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

My pieces turned out to be very small, the largest ones are about 1 cm approximately. Part of the "cookies" I crushed with my hands, part was crushed with a potato masher.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

For the cream, you need to combine soft butter and boiled condensed milk, mix until smooth.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Combine the cream and cookies, mix so that each piece is covered with cream.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

The resulting mass should be laid out in a cone-shaped shape in any convenient way. I put the mass in a bowl covered with cling film.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

The finished cake should be put in the cold overnight. Remove it from the mold, if it was in it, remove the film.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

If desired, decorate the finished cake with nuts or poppy seeds.

Delicious hearty cake, easy to prepare from available products.

Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!

Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
