Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the products. Bake or boil the beets. Defrost the dough in advance / I usually take it out of the freezer and leave it in the refrigerator overnight /.
Step 2:
Lightly dust the table and dough with flour. Roll out the dough in one direction / gently / about 5 - 7mm thick. Use a roller or a knife to cut rectangles of a convenient size for you. From the remaining dough, cut strips - sides.
Step 3:
Put the rectangles on a baking sheet. Lubricate the joints with water and attach the sides. Cover with a napkin and leave for 10 minutes for proofing. Then lubricate the top with egg / I often lubricate just with vegetable oil /.
Step 4:
Bake in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for about 18 minutes - until golden brown. Cover with a napkin and let cool.
Step 5:
Prepare the filling: finely grate the cooled beetroot, finely chop the garlic, herring fillet, add mayonnaise and mix.
Step 6:
We put the filling in the boxes, decorate the top with a slice of herring and herbs. Bon appetit !
The filling can be changed to any: vegetable, meat, fish or sweet, but puff pastry without yeast is more suitable for sweets.
