Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 2 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

We will prepare the dough for our future house in the custard way.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, honey and butter.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Heat the mixture to 70 C (since it is difficult to determine such a temperature by eye, the most important thing is not to let the mixture boil).

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

When the mixture heats up, add half the norm of flour and spices.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Stir quickly and thoroughly, because if the flour is not stirred immediately, it will take lumps that will be difficult to stir, but if this suddenly happens, then just use a sieve. We leave the finished dough to cool.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

We introduce one egg into the cooled mass, stirring thoroughly after each,

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Add cognac at the end (you don't have to add it).

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Now add the remaining flour and knead the dough. It turns out to be very soft and gentle, it is a pleasure to work with it.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Wrap the finished dough in a film and send it to the refrigerator to rest for 1 hour. The cooled dough, for convenience, is divided into 2 parts. We roll out each part and cut out the elements of the house.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

If you do not have ready-made cuttings for the house, then using scissors, a ruler and paper or cardboard, we cut out the elements of the house. I used a computer and printed out the finished blanks, I just had to cut them out. You can cut openings for doors, windows, or you can draw when decorating. Bake in a preheated oven at 190C for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, the main thing is not to over-dry, they should remain soft, only after completely cooling they harden a little over

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

While our spare parts are cooling down, we are preparing icing. To do this, whisk the protein to a light foam, do not achieve stable peaks, we just need to break the protein structure. In the whipped protein, we introduce sifted powdered sugar in small portions. Stir well.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

After all the powder has been introduced, add lemon juice and mix thoroughly again. Icing is ready.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

We put the icing in a pastry bag with a very thin nozzle, or you can use a stationery file or a dense package. Now we turn on our imagination and decorate the walls of the house with intricate patterns, snowflakes or whatever comes to mind. To glue the walls, we apply icing to the edge of the wall and apply it to another wall, hold it a little so that the icing grabs slightly.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Having built our house, you can make icicles from icing along the edge of the roof or draw tiles. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and the house is ready. We enjoy the view of the house during the holidays, and then quickly destroy it (my house stood for 4 days, but I'm sure it can stand longer, but the family did not give it). Bon appetit!
