Step-by-step cooking
Pour the poppy with boiling water and keep for half an hour to swell.
After the water is drained through a sieve, we grind the poppy in a mortar (the mortar can be replaced with a blender).
Add sugar, lemon zest, and milk to the poppy seeds.
Sift flour together with baking powder, chop walnuts, mix with poppy seeds.
We combine all the mixtures, knead the dough and put it into molds.
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees.
