Danish Peppernuts cookies, despite the "formidable" name, has nothing to do with pepper. Cardamom and other harmless spices that are included in this recipe will turn the head of any sweet tooth. Despite the apparent abundance of all kinds of spices, it is a pleasure to cook cookies, because the smells of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves are mixed here. The kitchen is just immersed in this sweet datura. However, if the desktop becomes too cloying to smell, you can make coffee and drink it while you conjure over this "overseas" food. So, in a saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, milk and butter. Put on fire and bring to a boil. After that, the saucepan can be sent to the cold for 15 minutes. Mix anise extract, flour, vanillin, salt, cardamom and cloves in a separate cup. Add all this mixture to a saucepan with a cooling liquid, mix thoroughly and leave for two hours until the whole mass cools down and begins to hold its shape a little. Divide the dough into 24 equal portions. Sprinkle a cutting board or table with powdered sugar, roll out each portion into a small sausage on it. Cut each sausage into small pieces, put it on a baking sheet and put it in the oven. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Bake for no more than 10 minutes. During this time, you can make coffee or brew fresh tea. As soon as the cookies are browned, take them out of the oven and put them on a paper towel. That's it! "Danish peppers" are ready.
