Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
To prepare Kazakh shelpeks, we will prepare flour, water, sunflower oil and salt.
Step 2:
Pour flour into a bowl, add salt and water. Knead the dough.
Step 3:
The dough must be kneaded well. It should become elastic and soft. Leave the finished dough for 10 minutes.
Step 4:
Divide the resulting dough into 7 parts. We roll out each part with a rolling pin into a thin circle, but no larger than the diameter of the frying pan in which we will bake shelpeks.
Step 5:
Fry each tortilla over medium heat in preheated sunflower oil on both sides, while constantly rotating the shelpek in a circle. Shelpek is fried very quickly - only 15 seconds on each side. There should not be a ruddy crust. The main thing is not to overcook the shelpeks, since after cooling they will become hard.
Step 6:
We take out the finished shelpek on a paper towel so that excess oil is drained from it.
Step 7:
We serve ready-made shelpeks to the table.
