Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 2 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Wash the oranges, dry them, cut them in half and squeeze out the juice. In this recipe, we will use whole oranges.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour all the juice into all the sugar and mix well. If the sugar is large, you can send the container with the future syrup to the microwave for a couple of minutes so that the sugar dissolves. The approximate amount of juice should be 150-200 ml. If less, you can dilute with water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the crusts into strips 0.5 cm wide. And add it to the syrup.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

We send the container to the microwave, we will boil candied fruits in pulses of 4 minutes at maximum temperature. The number of pulses will be 4-6. It all depends on the thickness and hardness of the peel. I usually have at least 5. Between each pulse, we take it out, mix it and send it back.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Over time, the peel will begin to change color. It will become more transparent, similar to marmalade. The liquid will evaporate, the syrup will thicken. Readiness can be checked with a toothpick. It should freely enter the peel.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

When the crusts have become soft, translucent - they are ready. We put them on the grill, or a plate and let them dry. You can leave it overnight, and if you don't have time, you can put it right on a plate in the oven at 60-70 degrees for an hour. The result will be the same.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Pour the syrup into a jar, it will still come in handy. I usually add it to baking when kneading dough. It can be used as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, cheesecakes .....

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

When the crusts have dried, we roll them abundantly in sugar, and put them in a hermetically sealed container.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Stored in the refrigerator. My candied fruits are already 1.5 meat pieces, they are as delicious as they were on the first day.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Here are such beautiful, bright, fragrant, juicy candied fruits turned out. They can be used in baking, or as an independent dessert in tea or coffee.

I really like this recipe for its simplicity.
There is no bitterness in it, only sweetness and citrus notes. With a cup of herbal tea, this dessert will be very useful.I usually cook a whole portion and also use it in baking. It turns out very fragrant.
I hope you like the recipe and it will be useful!!!
