Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Option 1: Traditional. You will need a radish, a sharp knife, honey and a container to place the radish. The container should not fit too tightly to the root crop. Radish should be washed very well from dirt with a sponge.
Step 2:
At the radish, we cut off the side where the tops grow to get a flat base on which the root crop can stand firmly in the container.
Step 3:
Cut off the tail from which the root grew.
Step 4:
Cut a hole in the root crop with a knife, clean it with a spoon or a round knife. You can make additional strips with a knife at the bottom of the hole.
Step 5:
Pour honey.
Step 6:
Close the lid and put it in a dark cool place overnight (for about 10 hours).
Step 7:
This is how the radish looks in the morning - the root crop will dry slightly and juice will be released from it from above and below through the incised parts.
Step 8:
Option 2: Quick. For him, the root vegetable is three on a grater.
Step 9:
Put the grated radish in a bowl with honey, stir gently, cover the top with a dish or food wrap. It is convenient to use a food container. We leave it in a dark, cool place, and after 3 hours the radish is ready for use!
Step 10:
Be healthy!
2 of the presented options, I learned in detail how to cook from my grandmother and tried it on myself. The traditional option - making a hole in the root crop - requires more time to brew (about 10 hours). In this case, you will get more juice. The option with grated radish is much faster (ready for use in 3 hours). Juice in this case, however, stands out less, but from the remaining honey-soaked radish, you can then make pancakes:)
As a cough remedy, use 1 teaspoon 3 times a day after meals. Usually they write that you need to add honey. From my experience, I noticed that almost all the juice is released on the first day, and then from the fact that you add honey, the juice no longer becomes. I tried it with root vegetables of different sizes - the effect is the same.
Since due to the naturalness of the components, the shelf life of the product is very small, it is necessary to know and comply with the rules and conditions of storage.
How to properly store radish with honey? The best option for storing ready–made radish with honey (both the usual and quick version with grated radish) is a refrigerator. It will retain the beneficial properties of the medicinal drink in the event that you have prepared a large portion.
It is better to strain the finished juice of black radish with honey into a separate, hermetically sealed container and store it in the refrigerator. The maximum shelf life in closed form, I repeat, is necessarily in the refrigerator – three days.
